4/10 Poor.
only 1 hour of gameplay so take this with a grain of salt.
the game felt like a basic rogue like, with only one novel mechanic, which wasn't interesting enough to get me excited and read massive walls of text and understand what upgrades and items do.
maybe the game gets better when you understand it better, but if one hour of gameplay was entirely just rolling decide and making decisions in a system i don't even understand, I'm not willing to invest more time in it.
which brings me to my …

It's a lovely experience for its genre, a standard rougelike game, make a build, do big numbers, win rounds. The ball mechanic is an interesting spin on this, and the art direction is lovely, However, this is where some issues are clear, first is the UI/UX horrible readability where what does what is not clear, second is difficulty curve, its too simple and non challenging with too much healing, finally is a feeling of a lack of depth, doesn't feel like a build could create an interesting combo, most of the time just get bombs and AOE everything

it has the rougelike part down but the rest of it is kinda underwhelming. i never cared about the positions of enemies, aoe is too good the randomness is abit too much, not getting the path you want because rng isnt fun. had trouble trying to understand what the buffs and debuffs do the only straight forward one was the poison. overall there are many other rougelikes that i would want to play over this one.

Peglin left me with the impression of a game built on a somewhat good conceptual foundation yet unable to fully harmonize its systems, resulting in an experience that feels more chaotic than intentionally deep. Its core loop borrows the familiar structure of turn‑based roguelikes. Still, unlike titles where “builds” gradually become a language the player learns to speak, Peglin’s systems resisted to be mappable in my mind.
The pinball mechanic -charming at first glance- creates a randomness wi…

A unique and colorful rogue like, a marriage between peggle and slay the spire.

The Good:

The Bad:
- The game starts with a bit of heavy termenologies that looked exciting to learn and use, fast forwa…

Playing this games I felt that the developers kept asking themselves "what if we can do this" not "should we do this"
- What if we made a pachinko roguelike. Good start respect
- What if we add map choices progress. Awsome
- What if we made the choice using the pachinko. Stop!!!
And other examples...
The main issue is that pachinko involves too unpredictable. It is difficult for the player to make a deliberate choice. This pushes "input randomness" too much, to the point it feels like "outp…
