Slay the Spire
The theme is on point, the art, the music, the sounds, the game play is super fun i lose myself within the run, so many cards, items, potions, effects, and thats just the first character I can see this game either spawned the style of rouge like it, or perfected it An experience defining game, with many the slay the spire likes i expect in the future and already exist
MiSide
A fun immersive experience, the mix between upbeat, unsettling and horrifying It captures it's niche perfectly, and the story is quite interesting, usually the walking simulator is expected, but it's nice that there is a wide variety of different activities, and visual tricks to capture the feel I am yet to finish the game, but those are my first impressions
Slots & Daggers
I have followed the development of this game for a very long time, i expected a lot, however sadly the game did not deliver Regarding visuals, sound design, thematics, masterpiece, truly one of the best aesthetics out there The modifications and items are interesting, some felt fun to play around But what lowered the rating is sadly the most critical part, the gameplay, sure be a slot machine game, however the executinal layer is completely pointless, after picking your items, making a build, executing it is boring and unnecessary, and doing it many many many times, gets quite old easily, i wish there was a stake regarding doubling down or something, even the unique items, the UX adds another layer to slowness, add in skill check and god, constant repetitive uninteresting actions, sadly truly effecting the rating
Antichamber
Sadly did not finish yet, will update when i finish it First of all, what did i just play, second of all, what did i just play, third of all, i love what i just played The game breaths its identity, from the style, visuals, short clues, the confusing maze of rooms that i can already see connections i don't know how to access it yet, it throws you in there, and you get to explore and navigate the madness Its an 8 for me (so far) for truly being a unique, enjoyably confusing experience
UFO 50
This game is a solid experience i would recommend to anyone, it is a buffet style game, where to however picks it, will find something for them to enjoy and love, the direction of the game takes me back to the generations of gaming i lived If i could, i would buy a game boy like console with just this installed, and i would be overjoyed
Opus Magnum
Opened a puzzle, looked at a puzzle for 1 hour overthinking it, closed the game......perfection In all seriousness, a truly masterful class in pure problem solving, a very elegant clear design to what the game wants to be, with difficulty scaling each puzzle, and freedom to do whatever as long as the puzzle is solved with metrics to take as goals to optimize. The art, sound design, music, all masterful. The extra story that doesn't disturb and board mini game are the cherries on top A master class in representing its target audience, and introducing new people to its fun
Mewgenics
Still playing the game, however i can already sense the level of madness, strategy, and combos this game offers, will be edited later, however first impressions are this is exceeding its own genre, the art direction is fun, and the game keeps on giving
Brothers A Tale of Two Sons
Will be edited when the game is done so far the experince is quite there, however it does not create a great hook, if it was with a very young kid or a non gamer, i can see it being fun, but for people who played games (played it with my brother) it just felt like there was no game really, its just Do X we do X, the rating would have been lower based on this, however because i can see it being fun with a kid or a non gamer, i will keep it at 6, will improve the writing better on the edit after finishing the game
What Remains of Edith Finch
A truly immersive story about a family filled with tragic stories, the game does not try to be anything else from what it already is, a story, immersing you in an unpredictable order of events, and let you complete the pieces. The game answers enough yet leaves you with questions for you sit back on, along with a quite unique fun UI. The only negative thing i could possibly conjure is that the achievements are so random, and i wish they just didn't exist, just the completed everything if you really want achievements. Its amazing in my book (da dum ts) i would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a narrative experience
Peglin
It's a lovely experience for its genre, a standard rougelike game, make a build, do big numbers, win rounds. The ball mechanic is an interesting spin on this, and the art direction is lovely, However, this is where some issues are clear, first is the UI/UX horrible readability where what does what is not clear, second is difficulty curve, its too simple and non challenging with too much healing, finally is a feeling of a lack of depth, doesn't feel like a build could create an interesting combo, most of the time just get bombs and AOE everything
Potion Craft
This game has a solid foundation that works together beautifully, with a unique aesthetic and theme that is immersive. Its a solid resource management game with a beautiful execution layer. The issues that turn it to a 7 was that after that solid foundation, it starts falling flat, with a lack of depth, and a feeling of constant grind, repeating the same actions, another issue is the haggling system, its extremely out of the loop, would have preferred something within the execution skills as the potions, or be decision based. A solid game
Suzerain
An immersive experience in the mind of a president, with decisions each having trade offs and taking a very long time to know their outcome The only reason why this is not a 10/10 for me, is i felt a bit railed towards a specific path, rather than being able to make decisions based on my already existing information For example, there are cites that i was i was allowed to invest in much sooner, rather than wait until the option is shown
ULTRAKILL
Every joint in my body is either stiff or in pain 10/10 i don't even know what was in front of me
Lysfanga
Might rewrite later, so far the time mechanic is something i quite enjoy a lot, and i quite enjoy optimizing my routes to be the fastest once to finish. As someone who never saw this style of puzzle/combat quite impressed and satisfied
Punch Club
Loved it lots, love the concept of not being able to focus on things, and the retro style is amazing, and the side quests are just so fun and diverse, i can't expect what would happen next My issue however, which i find deep, is how days can just pass and nothing happen, which breaks the very philosophy that this game seems to strongly push for
The Hex
A Daniel Mullins classic, does exactly what it meant to be. The way all the games follow a similar input yet play very differently is amazing, and the mix and mash is extremely entertaining. Loved hunting for secrets. I see nothing to improve
War for the Overworld
I can see the potential, and how it funded some concepts in its time, however the user experience is quite clunky, and the game feels quite slow for my taste
This War of Mine
The start is extremely slow, that i got extremely not interested
